2016: Here We Come!

 

After a tumultuous and inspiring 2015, I am more than excited to begin 2016 and to start work with Team 12.

In a few short weeks, our athletes will return to campus and begin the work to get ready for the 2016 season that we feared would not happen.

This academic year has been amazing with students, staff and faculty “getting things done.”  As a coach who values teamwork above all else, this has been an incredible experience.

Having a smaller number of athletes on campus than we normally do has presented a challenge.  Until we can recruit back for the class that we lost, it is all hands on deck for our teams.  Softball players took up field hockey this fall, soccer players are joining the tennis team this spring, etc.  Our athletes have been just that, athletes.   They have shown strength, agility of mind and body, and mostly the type of extreme teamwork that we prize on the softball program.

Extreme teamwork is one of the core values of the Sweet Briar college softball program.  I’ll be explaining more about our core values and examples of how we live those values in my posts this coming season.
